There was some morning frost north of the lake today.
What can we expect as we move toward Christmas.
"A cool and dry week of weather is ahead," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone forecasts. "Enjoy a beautiful Monday. A cold front will quietly move in late in the day, but don't expect any rain."
He says it will just make it a little cooler for a couple of nights.
"The mornings of Tuesday and Wednesday will be cold with a frost or light freeze north and west of Lake Pontchartrain. Lower 40s are expected south of the lake for the mornings."
Malone expects temperatures will rise a little at the end of the week which still looks dry and mostly sunny to party cloudy.
"The weekend will turn mostly cloudy and a little warmer with afternoons nearing 70. We'll get into a wetter pattern by this weekend. A slow moving storm system will likely send several rounds of rain our way later Saturday and lasting through Christmas next Monday."
He says it's still too early for the exact timing of the rain, but plan on showers sticking around through early next week.
