We have seen a few passing showers in Southeast Louisiana from last night into this morning, and more rain is forecast.
"Don't expect anything severe or heavy enough to cause flooding, but you'll need rain gear if you have plans to be outside," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone said.
He forecasts a mostly cloudy Friday with a few passing showers.
"This weekend looks similar with cooler temps in the 60s and clouds with a few light showers."
Malone says things could get much wetter starting on Monday.
"Next week looks more interesting as a slow moving storm system sets up over the northern Gulf. We could see showers and heavy rain to develop through Monday and last into Tuesday. The big question remains where does the storm system track. That will determine who sees the heaviest rain."
He explains that models show a few scenarios.
"While some models keep the heaviest rain in the Gulf just off the coast. Some could see enough rain that flooding could become a concern."
