Temperatures are falling behind a front that arrived this morning across Louisiana.
"An upper disturbance is pushing a front through our area this Wednesday morning," WWL TV Meteorologist Brooke Laizer explained. "A surge of Arctic air will follow behind with temps falling much of the day."
She says by Thursday morning, the Northshore will have a hard freeze in the 20s with a light freeze south of the lake.
"Expect a hard freeze for the Northshore and areas west Thursday and Friday. Pipes will need to be protected in these areas."
Laizer says Southshore residents should protect their plants.
High temps on Thursday and Friday will stay in the 40s, with 50s returning for the weekend.
