Colder weather settling in through Christmas

Colder
NWS

The cold front that helped trigger 21 tornadoes across Louisiana Tuesday and Wednesday is now brining much cooler conditions to the region.

"Following a busy weather day on Wednesday, today will be quiet and cooler. This is just the beginning of a cooler pattern," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone said. "We see sunny afternoons Thursday and Friday with high temperatures near 60 degrees."

He says overnight temps should be in the 30s and 40s.

"This weekend a disturbance will bring scattered showers through the area on Saturday with temperatures in the low to mid 50s. Sunday looks dry with highs in the 50s."

Malone says it gets even colder for next weekend during Christmas.

"All signs point towards a very strong cold front just before Christmas weekend."

He says highs could be in the 30s with lows in the 20s.
