If you've been waiting for the perfect conditions to get outdoors, your wait is over.
We are catching a break from last week's rain, heat, and humidity. Breezy and dry conditions will persist through Sunday, keeping our high temperatures in the mid- to upper-80s. A stray shower or two is possible on Sunday, but unlikely, as the rain chance is only 10 percent. Overnight lows this weekend will dip into the upper-60s, giving campers one last chance to enjoy themselves before summer gets into full swing.
The humidity will ramp up as we enter the new week. By the time we get to Wednesday, our usual oppressive conditions for this time of year will have returned, bringing pop-up showers with it later in the week. Temperatures will hover around 90° all week long with a 20-percent chance of rain on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Overnight lows will be in the mid- to upper-70s throughout the week on both sides of Lake Pontchartrain.
