The National Hurricane Center is tracking what is now Hurricane Elsa.
At 6:45am, forecasters say Elsa got strong enough to be a category one hurricane.
"Surface observations from Barbados indicate that Elsa's maximum sustained winds have increased to near 75 mph, and the cyclone is now a hurricane," according to the Tropical Cyclone Update.
The Meteorological Service of Barbados has issued Hurricane Warning for Barbados, St. Vincent, and the Grenadines. The Meteorological Service of St. Lucia has issued a Hurricane Warning for St. Lucia.
The Hurricane Center forecasts Elsa will lose some power in the Caribbean over the weekend and be a tropical storm as it moves toward Florida on Tuesday.
Elsa is forecast to hit Florida by Wednesday, but with models still split on the five day track, there is significant uncertainty.
Some computer models show it going as far west as Texas. Others send it to Louisiana, but most are calling for landfall somewhere in Florida.
We will have a better idea next week on the eventual track.
