Morning visibilities dropped down to just feet in several spots on both sides of the lake amid dense fog.
The Causeway started convoys southbound around 5:30am, with just one lake northbound in the fog.
"For most of the area it will be another warm and muggy day in the 70s, but a cold front is knocking on our door step," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone forecast. "The cold front sits just north of the area this morning and will slowly move through the area."
He says the front is moving so slow that it will take all day and into tonight for it to reach the Southshore.
"Tomorrow now looks cooler with highs in the 50s and lots of clouds."
Malone expects Thursday to briefly warm up into the 60s and low 70s as the front moves back north as a warm front.

"This will bring a chance for showers and some storms for the first half of Thursday."
