Dense fog blanketed Southeast Louisiana overnight, and made for a foggy morning.
"You'll need to watch for areas of dense fog," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone said.
Visibilities dropped to below a quarter of a mile in spots.
"This afternoon the heat won't let up!" Malone forecasts. "We could tie a 71 year old record today. High temperatures will approach the low to mid 80s this afternoon."
He says a stray shower is possible, but advises you should not expect to see rain.
The unusually warm December weather sticks around for the next week with some spotty showers possible.
Malone expects a cold front next week.
"Becoming breezy early next week in advance of the upper trough which is set to bring more winter-like temperatures through the day Wednesday. The long-range forecasts seem to be for the second half of December to be cold!"
