This early season Gulf low pressure system could spark off scattered rain storms.

The weak system will begin drifting east and its effects on Southeast Louisiana could be minimal.

The National Hurricane Center says the low has a slight chance of developing into stronger system and will just likely lope around the Gulf.

But it will increase rain chances for the region.

Thursday is likely when we will see any rain activity.

By the weekend, any stormy weather will be over the Florida Peninsula bringing rain to Tampa.

Locally, skies will remain cloudy and warm in the upper 80s.

It will be muggier over the next few days with a chance for popup showers in the afternoon, today.

We'll have a more typical summer pattern with slightly higher humidity and a few scattered storms in the afternoons by Thursday possibly associated with the low pressure to our south in the Gulf.
Temperatures will edge up toward 90, but it won't be unusually hot for this time of year.
