Heat and humidity remain over the New Orleans Metro Area as a ridge of high pressure continues to hover over the southeastern United States. While we most likely will see scattered showers and storms, don't expect much in the way of cooler conditions. In fact, that precipitation could make conditions hotter and muggier, with heat indices in the metro area pushing 108°. Actual air temperatures will top out around 92 on Friday, with overnight lows near 80.
This forecast will repeat itself for the better part of the next week, with temperatures creeping slightly higher by Wednesday.
