We are riding a weather roller coaster.
"Expect another freeze on both sides of the lake tonight," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone forecasts.
That comes after temps in the 50s today.
"Winds are picking up out of the north and will stay gusty all day. The coldest of the air begins to move in tonight."
Malone says Northshore areas drop into the 20s, with the Southshore in the low 30s.
"Northshore should protect plants, pets, people and pipes. The southshore should protect everything, but pipes. I don't think it'll be cold enough south of the lake to worry about pipes."
He says we only warm into the 40s for weekend highs.
"Back into the 60s Monday with increasing temps much of the week. Near 70° with showers and storms Tuesday and low 70s Wednesday and Thursday with showers and storms."
Malone warns that with forecast rainfall totals through next Thursday possibly exceeding four to six inches, we could see s flood threat next week.
