Saturday's forecast calls for likelihood of severe weather, with much of the New Orleans area at risk level of four out of five for severe weather.
"These storms will pick up in intensity going into the afternoon and early evening hours," said WWL-TV meteorologist Alexa Trischler. "The risk for sever weather today is quite high. The storms today can bring us damaging winds and tornadoes and hail."
Storms could last through 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday night.
After the bad weather clears out, skies will clear and Sunday's forecast looks much brighter:
"Plenty of sunshine, less humid, and highs in the 70s," Alexa said.
