The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center says there is an enhanced risk of severe weather in the New Orleans area tonight.
That is a risk factor of three on their five-level scale.
"As we move into the evening, we're expecting an even heavier round of showers and storms probably well after sunset and maybe even as late as about 10 or 11 p.m.," said WWL-TV meteorologist Alexandra Cranford.
"We will have a risk of a few severe storms and also a risk of some flooding rains," Alexandra said.
A few storms may linger into Tuesday morning.
