We are likely to get wet Monday night and Tuesday morning as a front combined with moisture left over from Tropical Storm Sara brings rain to the Gulf coast.
"Starting to see a few pop-up showers, especially off to our west, and more to come through the evening , overnight, and early on Tuesday morning," said WWL-TV Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin. "A few could become strong to severe."
Franklin said gusty winds, street flooding, and even isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
"Rainfall totals could be fairly excessive over the area, and in some isolated locations, maybe four to six inches briefly," he said,
After the rain, it will start getting cooler, with highs in the low to mid 60s by the end of the week.
