Rainy Christmas Day

Rain
NWS

Expect increasing rain as we move through Christmas Day.

"The weather will go downhill this afternoon as showers and thunderstorms arrive," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone forecasts.

He says look for temperatures in the 50s.

"Expect showers with a few thunderstorms to arrive through the lunchtime and last into the evening. There will be breaks in the rain, but have rain gear with you throughout much of the day."

Malone says a few thunderstorms could be strong with heavy rain, but overall the risk for severe weather and flooding are low.

"Tonight, we turn mostly dry, but stay mild in the 60s.
The warm 70s return Thursday and we stay warm through the weekend."
