Heat indices could push past the 100° mark on Wednesday as the heat and humidity hover over the New Orleans metro area. Actual air temperatures will top out near or above 90°. In fact, we could see new record-high temperatures today and tomorrow as rain chances remain slim to none.
Rain chances enter the forecast on Friday as a cool front makes its way into the region. That front will drop high temperatures into the low- to mid-80s through the weekend. The break from the heat and humidity will last for a few days, but expect heat and humidity to return by next Wednesday.
