The New Orleans area is under a flash flood watch through noon Wednesday.
"About a 30-40 percent chance for some late evening and nighttime showers," said WWL-TV Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin. "More numerous showers and some heavy downpours could lead to some flooding,"
The city of New Orleans suspended parking restrictions to allow car owners put their vehicles on neutral grounds and sidewalks to try and avoid street flooding.
