The New Orleans area has "enhanced" and "moderate" chances of severe weather Wednesday, a 3 and 4 on a 5-point scale, respectively.
"Both sides of the lake will need to be weather-aware during the morning and afternoon," said WWL-TV Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin.
"More scattered shower development will be during our early morning hours, and then after 11 to noon, a lone of storms rolling through," he said.
Storms could be packing high winds and the potential for tornadoes.
"It does look like this should be a very fast-moving line, so flooding is not going to be a major threat. The real concern will be tornadic storms and numerous storms capable of developing tornadoes," Chris said.
