Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible this afternoon. The 40 percent coverage will keep highs today in the upper 80s.
Tomorrow through the weekend, more rain is expected. Rain chances are 50 percent Friday, 40 percent Saturday, and dropping to 30 percent Sunday with highs in the mid and upper 80s.
A cool front is forecast to move through the region in the early part of next week. It will mean less humid air as we start the week.
"Won't do much to our temperatures but highs are expected to be a touch below average," said WWL-TV meteorologist Michelle Morgan. Highs will range from the mid to upper 80s.
