We are preparing for a couple of rounds of nasty storms.
"By tonight storms will move into the area," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone forecasts. "The timing for most will likely be after midnight and before sunrise. There will be a risk for strong winds and heavy rain. This is the first round and should clear the area by sunrise Friday."
He says we dry out for the first part of Friday.
"Our next round of storms begins to fire up Friday afternoon and evening. This round will pose a risk for strong winds, hail, isolated tornadoes and heavy rain."
Malone says there could be multiple batches of storm cells lasting into Friday night and Saturday morning.
"There will be a risk for heavy rain and flooding, but it's hard to say where the highest rain totals will be. I do see the highest threat for flooding Friday night into Saturday morning."
