Saturday's rain has brought cooler temperatures to the New Orleans metro area. Those cooler conditions will stick around through Monday.
High temperatures on Sunday and Monday will top out around 70°. Clouds will begin to break up during the day on Sunday, giving way to sunny conditions later in the day and on Monday. Overnight lows will dip into the 40s north of Lake Pontchartrain during the first half of the week. South of the lake, lows will hold in the low-50s.
The warmup begins on Tuesday, with high temperatures gradually rising until they reach the 80° on Friday.
Moisture reenters the forecast on Friday, with high humidity and a 20-percent chance of showers forecast for the last day of the workweek. On Saturday, we'll have a 70-percent chance of rain and thunderstorms. The warmth and humidity will stick around during those storms, with highs around 77° to open the weekend.
