Authorities say they are working to determine the extent of damage from a tornado Saturday.

"The St. Charles Parish Emergency Operations Center and Department of Homeland Security is working with local agencies to assess damages from a reported tornado in the Paradis area," according to a news release.

Residents who need help are urged to call the EOC at 985-783-5050.

"The majority of damage reports are between Cadow Rd and Bayou Gauche Road. The Paradis Volunteer Fire Department has confirmed reports of downed trees and power lines throughout the area and minor structural damage."

Officials remind everyone not to touch downed power lines, as they could be active.

"Hwy 90 West is partially closed due to down power lines. The Sheriff’s Office is on-site and 18-wheelers are unable to pass at this time."

Nearly all power was restored by 9:00pm.

The National Weather Service issued the following:

“An EF-1 tornado with 100 mph winds impacted Paradis, LA between 2:18 and 2:20 pm CST today. The tornado was on the ground for 0.7 miles and was 200 yards wide. Roof and siding damage occurred to several buildings and numerous trees were damaged. Fortunately, no injuries or deaths were reported.”
