Tropical Storm Victor developed out of Tropical Depression Twenty this afternoon. The storm could become Hurricane Victor by Friday morning.
The storm is headed west but it is not forecast to approach North America, and is expected to turn northwest and then north while still in the central Atlantic Ocean.
Victor is the second-to-last name on the list for this Atlantic hurricane season. Next up is Wanda, and then the National Hurricane Center will use supplemental storm names. The Greek alphabet names were discontinued after last year's record-breaking season.
The first name on the supplemental list is Adria.
