The weekend begins cool but afternoon highs will continue warming up.
Even so, it will stay in the 70s on Saturday.
"Saturday will be beautiful," said WWL-TV meteorologist Brooke Laizer. "We'll top out about 77 this afternoon, a little bit warmer than Friday."
Brooke says Sunday will be another day starting in the 40s and 50s north of the lake and 60s in the city, then warming up to the in the upper 70s as highs get closer to 80 degrees.
