NOPD reports a woman was hospitalized after a sword attack.
The woman hit with the weapon was reportedly not the intended target.
"Subject armed with sword attempted to strike victim's brother when victim stepped in and was stabbed," according to the NOPD's Major Offense Log.
It happened Sunday night at Frenchmen Street and Foy Street, not far from Dillard University.
The report does not say how extensive the injury was to the 35-year-old woman, but it did say she did not call for an ambulance.
"Victim was transported to local hospital via private conveyance."
