A kidnapping ordeal is over for a Marianite nun and native of Kenner, according to The Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate. Sister Suellen Tennyson is safe in U.S. custody.
Tennyson, 83, was kidnapped in April in Burkina Faso, where she had been living since 2014. Even as violence increased in the western African nation, Tennyson stayed despite the urgings of the Marianites to continue to minister to hungry children.
It isn't clear how Tennyson came to be freed from her captors.
