Seven long years and several rumors later,
The Strokes have returned!
The New Abnormal is slated for a release this spring and kicking off this week’s New Noise at Nine seemed like the right way to introduce it to you! Last fall an XRT listener turned me onto a soul singer named
Bakar. I played one of his songs a few times before New Noise at Nine took a break over the holidays and wanted to bring it back - a feel good summertime groove tune called
“Hell N Back.” I hear a gritty Sam Cooke. Would love to know what you think! Check out this week’s playlist with links to some music and concerts. Check out playlists from past New Noise at Nine shows
here.
Thanks for listening to XRT and letting me share some of the music I’ve been into with you. Please support the artists you hear on the radio station by buying their music from, whenever you can, a local, independent, or a family-owned music store. Listen to The Big Beat on Monday night at 11 for even more new music I’ve been finding. Connect with me on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. My handle on all three of ‘em is RyanArnoldRocks.
Your pal,-Ryan A.
