The Who Warm Up Chicago With A Lengthy Setlist At Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre

The Who brought their Moving On! Tour to Tinley Park's Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre this Tuesday (May 21) for a night of high energy, operatic rock and roll. The legendary band is trying something a little different for this run of shows, as they are performing every night with a full concert orchestra.

Shortly after taking the stage, Pete Townshend remarked that it was a little cold for late May, but the weather didn't seem to impact the performance in the slightest. The concert leaned heavily into material from Tommy and Quadrophenia, and songs like "5:15" and "Love, Reign O'er Me" really benefitted from the additional instrumentation, capturing the frenetic energy of the studio recordings in a new way.

While the orchestra was featured heavily throughout the night, there were a few intimate moments in the middle of the set, highlighted with just Roger and Pete on stage for a stripped down version of the classic "Won't Get Fooled Again". Closing with a triumphant "Baba O'Riley", The Who proved that 50-plus years into a storied career, their songs remain as vital as ever.
