6 teens arrested and charged in Elgin Township after crashing BMW that was reported stolen

ELGIN TOWNSHIP (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Sheriff’s deputies in Kane County arrested six teenagers who allegedly crashed a stolen car in Elgin Township.

The Kane County Sheriff’s Office said the six people arrested ranged in age from 14 to 16. Police said that about 5:30 a.m. on Thursday they got a call about a stolen BMW in Elgin Township, in the 1000 block of Woodcliff Drive. Deputies spotted the car which appeared to be traveling with a white BMW on Route 31.

The black BMW eventually crashed and five of the six people in the cars took off on foot. All six were eventually arrested and are now charged. Police also found in the black BMW a key that belonged to a stolen Audi which was later located.
