A Chicago-area couple that lost their son to suicide after he was cyberbullied is pledging millions to stop more tragedies.
Nate Bronstein was a student at the prestigious Latin School of Chicago and took his own life in 2022 at the age of 15.
Nate's parents, Rose and Rob Bronstein, have already donated $7.8 million to their family foundation's flagship program, "Buckets over Bullying," a nod to Nate's love of basketball.
Rob Bronstein believes no child should be bullied, and no families should suffer, saying, "ever since we lost our son and found out the way that he had been viciously attacked and cyberbullied, my wife and I have really been all-in to do whatever we possibly could to make sure that this does not happen again, that another family doesn't have to go through what our family has."
Rose Bronstein tells WBBM their foundation's support will reach a total of $15 million for ongoing anti-cyberbullying initiatives saying, "our goal is to support families who need legal recourse as well. At this point in time I don't think that our children are safe in schools when it comes to bullying and harassment, and we're at an inflection point where we need to start to push back."
