(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Ever since a 10-year-old boy was thrown from an Antioch carnival ride, there have been multiple fundraisers for him. In early August, the Village of Antioch will host one.

Profits from the final “It’s Thursday” concert of Antioch’s summer series will go to Huntley Daniels and his family. In its announcement, the Village said there will be raffles and a collection of notes and cards for the boy as he recovers.

Huntley has undergone multiple surgeries since he was thrown from the Moby Dick ride on July 16 at the Taste of Antioch. His injuries included a cracked skull and multiple bones.

Fox 32 reported that Huntley has returned home from the hospital and has started physical therapy while using a walker to get around.

Mayor Scott Gartner said he’s “moved by the overwhelming support the community has shown for Huntley and his family.”

“Together, we stand strong, committed to providing him and his family with assistance,” Gartner said. “This event is a testament to the strength of our community bonds.”

Any local businesses or organizations interested in supporting the fundraiser were encouraged to contact Village of Antioch Business Development Manager Mark Sural at msural@antioch.il.gov.

State and local authorities are still investigating the ride.
