(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Officials at Bradley University in Peoria are condemning what authorities are calling hate-based vandalism after someone spray-painted antisemitic messages on buildings early Friday.
Campus police distributed surveillance video showing a suspect tagging one site, although multiple locations were vandalized between 3:45 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., officials said.
Bradley University President Stephen Standifird said the messages were left at three locations and targeted "members of our Jewish community."
"Bradley University has no tolerance for acts of bias, hatred, violence, or intimidation toward ANY member of our community. Regardless of how you identify, this is a place you should feel safe. Those responsible will be found and held accountable," Standifird said in a written statement posted online.
He said support services would be made available to students and staff.

Peoria is 170 miles southwest of Chicago. Bradley University has 4,600 undergraduate and 1,300 graduate students.
