(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The city of Chicago has approved revised renderings of the proposed permanent casino in the River West neighborhood.

The original design of the casino campus on the former Chicago Tribune printing plant at Chicago and Halsted called for a 500-room hotel tower.

Bally's went back to the drawing board after the city determined foundation work for the hotel building would damage water lines.

Revised plans call for 400 rooms to be spread out across three smaller buildings.

Bally's says the renderings were approve after review by numerous city agencies.
