NAPERVILLE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A year after Barnes and Noble announced it was closing its store in downtown Naperville, the retail chain is returning.

The new Barnes and Noble location is just around the corner from where the bookseller had been for 25 years before closing in January. It's the old Pottery Barn space.

The Downtown Naperville Alliance announced the move as well as other retail stores and restaurants coming to the popular spot near the Riverwalk next year.

Barnes and Noble says it plans to open in April and will have a cafe inside.

After challenging years, the now privately-held company has reopened stores in several locations, including just last month in Schererville, Indiana and the month before in Wicker Park.
