Fake AI flowers are back, and they’re blooming into a costly scam. Jordan Wright with the Better Business Bureau’s Tip-Off to the Rip-Off® on WBBM Newsradio has the details.
A few years ago, consumers were fooled by AI-generated images of a fake flower growing blooms that looked like kitten faces.
Now, a new wave of phony flowers is spreading online. Pop-up ads and marketplace listings promote impossible plants.
The images look real, prices seem low, and limited-time offers create pressure to buy. In many cases, customers receive nothing at all or packets of random seeds that never produce the advertised plant.
Before you buy, check with a reputable local nursery or botanical expert, and research any company before sharing money or personal information.
