Once the Fourth of July celebrations fade, back-to-school sales quickly take center stage, and scammers are ready to cash in.

As families wrap up Independence Day celebrations, back-to-school shopping is not far behind. Seasonal scammers are also getting ready.

Parents and students have plenty to juggle, from summer activities to school supplies and clothing lists.

Fraudsters may use fake ads, websites, texts, and emails to push deals that look too good to pass up.

Before you click “buy,” check the company’s ratings and reviews, think twice before sharing money or personal information, and make sure the site starts with H-T-T-P-S to ensure it is secure.
