CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A clothing store on Chicago's South Side was the target of a smash-and-grab burglary early Saturday morning.
Chicago Police said an SUV crashed into Shop 147 at 95th and Claremont around 4 a.m., breaking windows. Investigators said that's when several people from two other vehicles went into the store repeatedly to steal items, before fleeing.
The store's security guard told CBS-2 that five or six people took part in the burglary, and left clothing and other items scattered on the floor.
The shop's owner said he suspects the thieves had checked out the store ahead of time to see what they could steal.
