Eight semi-truck-loads of humanitarian aid were loaded at a warehouse in Broadview Saturday morning to be shipped off to Ukraine.

This effort was organized by Pastor John Harrell, the founder of the organization Black Men United. He says the aid shipment 22 pallets includes masks, gauze, medical gowns, sanitizer, first aid kits and other supplies. He said it's unimaginable what the people of Ukraine are going through.

"Yeah, it's really unfortunate when you have both sides, as a matter of fact, you have Russian families and Russian citizens fighting with their brothers and sisters for a land grab. It is a tragedy that innocent bloodshed is going spilled all over the land of Ukraine. And so we definitely are praying for that community. And however we can support them, we're going to continue to do so," Harrell said.

He said partners in this effort include World Vision and Valleys Casinos.
