CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - There’s new information about the search for the hit-and-run driver who ran over an 11-year old boy who was on a bicycle Thursday on the West Side.

Jalon James and his twin brother were bike riding when Jalon was hit as he crossed 16th Street between Homan and Christiana yesterday morning. It was less than a block from where the boys lived.

Police said Jalon was dragged a half block, the driver briefly stopped, and then kept going. The boy was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital.

The car was found elsewhere in the Lawndale neighborhood with its license plates removed. There was also a face mask police collected as evidence.
Police said no one is yet in custody.

James, who had just graduated from the 5th grade, was the third child killed by a driver in the past two weeks in the city.
