(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- West suburban Forest Park -- famous for its abundance of cemeteries – held its 11th annual “Casket Races” on Saturday.

It’s a little macabre, but all in fun. More than a decade ago, village leaders started the tradition, given the community’s reputation of having so many cemeteries – and several more deceased residents than living ones.

Among the teams racing a souped-up casket: “Hell-a-Tubbies,” a parody of the children’s television show and “It’s So Good to Be Bad,” which was comprised of Disney villains.

Teresa Molina-Gonzalez portrayed Ursula from “The Little Mermaid.”

“The reaction from the children, coming up to me to take photos – it’s been amazing,” she said.

Prizes were awarded to the swiftest teams, the “creepiest casket” and the team that finished “dead last.”
