(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Chicago Boat Show will be canceled for a second year in a row — this time, because of supply-chain disruptions.

The exposition was scheduled for Jan. 12-16 at McCormick Place. Sponsors say they’re tentatively planning for the event to return in January 2023.

Early this year, the pandemic sank the boat show. For 2022, scarce inventory is to blame.

“Following months-long analysis and conversations with exhibitors and partners to produce an event that would deliver a positive experience for our attendees, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Chicago Boat Show to 2023,” Show Manager Keith Ogulnick said in a news release Thursday. “We are excited for the return of this longstanding boating tradition next year.”
