(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Chicago Police Officer who was accused of sexual misconduct has been suspended for nine months.

Officer Daniel Otero admitted he had sex with a woman hours after he and another officer responded to her apartment on a report of an intruder.

He said she flirted with him and gave him her email address and said she wanted to hang out, in 2016.

After his shift, he said he went to her apartment and they had consensual sex. They had more email exchanges and never saw one another again.

Four years later, she filed a complaint with Civilian Office of Police Accountability.

The woman declined to have any involvement in the disciplinary proceedings. No evidence of sexual assault was found, but the report from the Chicago Police Board says “Officer Otero showed remarkably poor judgement and that the sexual relationship was improper given the circumstances.”
