CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot earned $497,000 during her first year in office.
A 2019 tax return released by the mayor's office shows she earned roughly $111,000 in city wages and another $352,000 from her former law firm Mayer Brown, which she left in 2018 to run for mayor.
The Chicago Tribune reported officials from the mayor's office didn't answer repeated questions though about why she earned money from Mayer Brown in 2019.
