It happened on the Far South Side shortly before 3:45 a.m. on the Friday before Christmas, officials said.

Police said the driver of a two-door, gray 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling on South State Street near East 94th Street when he struck the 65-year-old pedestrian.

On Wednesday, CPD shared a surveillance image showing the wanted vehicle. It was last seen traveling westbound on East 95th Street and passing South Lafayette Avenue.

The vehicle has Illinois license plates, with the number EG80292.
