(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - It took nearly until the end of the month, but mother nature has brought us Chicago typical January weather.
Following yesterday’s measurable snowfall, the second one of the week, bitterly cold temperatures are on tap for the next few days.
Today’s high temperature will only reach 26 degrees and will crash to a low of just 10 degrees tonight, AccuWeather says.
Tomorrow, expect even harsher conditions. The National Weather Service anticipates wind chill factors as low as 10 below zero Monday morning, with a brisk northwest wind gusting averaging 7-14 mph. The high will only reach 14 degrees during the day, while the actual air temperature could flirt with falling below zero overnight.
Tuesday will be more of the same. AccuWeather forecasts another day of frigid temperatures, with a high of 15 degrees.
The small morsel of solace? Despite bone chilling temperatures, there will be sunshine the next two days.
By Wednesday, AccuWeather expects a brief warmup, with temperatures climbing to near 30 degrees.
