CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Fans of the first place White Sox can pack the house once again.
The Chicago White Sox played in front of 8,200 fans during their capacity-limited home opener at Guaranteed Rate Field on April 8. Now with capacity restrictions lifted, the White Sox are calling the first game in front of a full house "Reopening Day."
Some COVID rules remain in place: all transactions are cashless and large bags are not allowed in the ballpark. Additionally, masks are required for fans who have not been vaccinated.
Friday night's first pitch against the Seattle Mariners is at 7:10 p.m. Parking lots around the ballpark will open two hours before the start of the game. Tailgating is allowed in most stadium lots, except for Lots C and D, according to the team. Gates will open 90 minutes prior to first pitch.
The White Sox will give the first 10,000 fans who enter the ballpark a special hat, designed by Chicago-based artist Conrad Javier.
Postgame fireworks will also return for Friday’s game.
