CRETE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A man from the south suburbs is due in court this morning for a detention hearing after allegedly threatening Governor JB Pritzker.

Michael Dascenzo faces felony counts of threatening a public official and harassment by electronic communications.

Illinois State Police said the 49-year-old from south suburban Crete sent a threatening email to the governor’s office on Jan. 9. They did not specify what he allegedly wrote but arrested him Tuesday after an investigation.

Dascenzo is being held in the Will County Jail and is due in court later this morning.
