CHICAGO (WBBM Newsradio) – Chicago police are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing aboard a CTA Blue Line train in the Loop earlier this month.
The attack happened around 7:25 p.m. June 3 near the 500 block of South LaSalle Street, according to police.
Investigators said a 36-year-old man got into a confrontation with another passenger while on the train. During the altercation, the suspect allegedly pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the victim before fleeing.
The victim suffered cuts to his neck and the left side of his body and was taken to Stroger Hospital in fair condition.
On Sunday, police released surveillance images of the suspect as part of a community alert. The suspect is described as a man who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the number "24" on the front, a blue surgical mask, light-colored jeans and black gym shoes at the time of the incident.
