CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Culver’s has opened a restaurant in Ravenswood and it includes the fast-food chain’s first-ever walk-up window in the Midwest. The eatery is located at Montrose Avenue near the CTA Brown Line station.
“For a number of years now, the only thing I eat is Culver’s,“ Ravenswood resident Todd Bodenstein confessed to WBBM Newsradio.
Bodenstein has had to travel several miles in the past to eat at his restaurant of choice.
For the opening of this Culver’s, he wanted to be first in line.
But he was running late.
“So I walk over. And it’s only 15 minutes before. But luckily for me, the owner - what’s the guy’s name - Craig Culver is giving a speech at the first walkup window of Culver’s. And everyone’s over there and no one’s in front of the door,” Bodenstein said.
So Bodenstein managed to be customer number one after all.
“Someone take care of the first customer, people!” he shouted.
Franchise owner Baron Waller told WBBM he hired 50 people and had hundreds of applications.
Waller also owns other Culver’s locations in the Chicago area.
