(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Fans of the Downton Abbey television series can now get an up-close look at some parts of the British drama at Old Orchard Mall.
The old Bloomingdale’s department store at the mall in Skokie is the sixth U.S. stop for the touring exhibition, said Universal Parks and Resorts Vice President Alexis Scalice.
“We’ve been at the Biltmore Hotel in North Carolina, which was beautiful,” Scalice said. “We’ve been to a number of different places, really where it comes to size, but also just where we know, from a market perspective, fans are really tuning in.”

She said the self-guided exhibit includes over 60 costumes, props and sets featured in the series that ardent followers will recognize.
“Fans get the opportunity to feel like they’re on set and really get a chance to immerse themselves,” Scalise said. “Versus watching it from home, they’re kind of living it out.”
Tickets are on sale now for the exhibit, which will run through the end of March on its sixth stop of a U.S. tour. Scalice said they’re looking to host interactive events in the future, such as high tea and etiquette classes.
